Ghusl first 2 white cloths Niyyah (intention) Talbiyah
1
Perform Ghusl (full bath)
Take a complete bath with unscented soap. Trim nails & remove body hair.
Apply unscented deodorant before Ihram – you’ll need it for hours.
2
Wrap the Izar (lower garment)
Wrap around waist from navel to below knees. Secure with belt or cord.
Practice wrapping at home – much easier at the miqat.
3
Drape the Rida (upper garment)
Place over both shoulders. Hang loosely, not wrapped like a towel.
During Tawaf, uncover your right shoulder (Idtiba).
4
Make your Niyyah (intention)
Say with heart: “Labbayka ‘Umratan” (Umrah) or “Labbayka Hajjan” (Hajj).
This is the moment you enter Ihram – avoid all prohibitions.
5
Recite the Talbiyah
Repeat often: “Labbayka Allahumma labbayk, labbayka la sharika laka labbayk…”
Recite until you begin Tawaf at the Kaaba.
